This situation is due to the fact that “the Paris police headquarters has not yet completely completed its plan to secure the opening ceremony, we will know at the beginning of April,” declared the Minister Delegate for Transport.
“This means that from mid-April, we will obviously have access to tickets for these Parisian stations,” promised Patrice Vergriete, while assuring that during the rest of the Olympics, “very few” public transport stations would be closed.
“Maybe it’s time to get out your bike”
Patrice Vergriete recalled the existence of the website making it possible to anticipate travel during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Île-de-France and in regional towns hosting events.
More broadly, the minister called on people wishing to travel during sporting events to “adapt (their) behavior”.
“Perhaps this is the time to take out your bike, because there will be no restrictions on walking or cycling” outside of the opening ceremony, he advised.
