I am from a generation that grew up with the Iron Curtain (on the good side, fortunately!) and was then able to believe in the end of history.
This is a generation that readily sees the world in black and white, with good guys and bad guys, allies and adversaries.
Honestly, it was relaxing.
But this reading grid is ineffective in today's world, particularly in the economic field where geopolitical dividing lines cannot be transposed.
Of course, this is not always the case.
For example, the United States and China are not friends.
And their strategic rivalry is reflected today very directly in the massive and exceptionally bipartisan vote of the American Congress which aims to expel the TikTok application from the United States, unless its Chinese shareholder ByteDance resells its American activities to one, or American investor(s).
We must assess the scope of this banning decision…
