The businessman Eliezer Fishman passed away tonight at the age of 80. Fishman was a prominent businessman for decades and the owner of many companies in diverse fields - real estate, communications, credit, retail, and more

In 2006, a bet on the Turkish lira cost Fishman heavy losses amounting to nearly NIS 400 million, and he was forced to realize part of his assets.
In 2017, he was declared bankrupt in what is considered one of the largest bankruptcies in the country, with huge debts of billions of shekels to various banks.
Most of his assets were sold in this process.
Fishman left behind his wife Tova and three children - Eyal, Anat and Ronit.
His funeral is expected to be held on Sunday.
