Q: Ludovic Valtier, you are BEST WORKPLACES FRANCE 2024 certified in the 250 to 1000 employees category.

Why did you start the Great Place To Work approach?

LV: Being recognized among the Best Workplaces is a source of great pride for us.

This is the highest level of recognition of the quality of our working environment.

We are particularly proud to be 4th in the ranking this year and to be the highest ranked financial services player in our category.

This recognition recognizes American Express's continued efforts to provide an exceptional employee experience, and to make our company a place where everyone feels included and can achieve their full potential.

This is a major certification that strengthens the attractiveness of our employer brand, both internally and externally.

We are also proud that our employees themselves testify to this quality: according to the audit, 93% of them affirm that American Express France is a company where it is good to work.

Q: You talk about the overall well-being of employees.

What significant initiatives have you developed to promote this well-being?

LV: At American Express, our employees are at the heart of our concerns.

We offer them numerous opportunities for professional development and overall well-being, including their physical, financial and mental health.

We provide them with tools and resources to support them in their career development, such as our “Career Growth” professional development program.

When it comes to mental health, our "Healthy Minds" program provides advice and support to our employees and their families as well as psychological assistance accessible 24/7 in the event of a crisis.

In France, we also offer a Fitness Space to help them maintain their physical health.

Finally, and particularly appreciated, we offer a flexible working model with our “Work From Anywhere” program, which allows our employees to work four weeks per year away from their main workplace, in France.

We have also implemented a culture of continuous learning, managerial practices focused on feedback and leadership to maintain the operational excellence that we owe to our customers.

Q: Are diversity, equality and inclusion priorities for American Express?

LV: Absolutely.

We have strived to create a diverse and inclusive company culture for many years.

We have 14 dedicated corporate networks for our people around the world, with over 120 local chapters to provide the support everyone needs.

Professional equality between women and men is a strong focus of our commitments.

In France, our Professional Equality Index is 93/100.

We have 63% women in our workforce in France, and among managers, 55% are women.

Q: Is being a GPTW an attractive factor for new employees?

LV: The results of Best Workplaces France 2024 confirm that our efforts are well received by our employees.

The Great Place To Work study reveals that 95% of them are proud to say they work at American Express.

They are our best ambassadors, and I am convinced that companies that take care of their employees are destined to be more attractive and effective.

We are proud to be able to meet the expectations of new employees.
