The illness can be “severe”.
Ham sold in Lidl stores is being recalled throughout France due to listeria contamination, the Rappel Conso website said on Monday, which warns of dangerous products marketed in the country.
In detail, these are packs of four slices of superior rindless Label Rouge ham from the “Saint Alby” brand which are affected by this recall.
They were sold between March 21 and 25 in Lidl stores and supermarkets.
The list of these brands is available on the government website.
A planned refund
Consumers who have purchased this product are invited to no longer consume it, return it to the point of sale or destroy it.
A refund is provided for those who return it to the store.
“People who have consumed the
products
mentioned above and who present with a fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption,” indicates the site, which encourages pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly to be “particularly attentive to these symptoms”.
“Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks,” it is also specified.
