Olympic Games 2024: to avoid the use of generators, Enedis connects its greener electrical terminals

2024-03-26T10:25:00.661Z

Highlights: EDF subsidiary Enedis has installed so-called event terminals on the vast majority of Olympic sites, always with a view to imitating them. “Paris 2024 is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the Games. We have this know-how for sensitive places like hospitals, state buildings, so we could do it for sport or sporting events,” says Nicolas Perrin, regional director for Paris at EDF. The company is an official supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We have all seen these huge generators which allow the victims, especially after storms, to have electricity, but also spew a lot of smoke linked to their significant consumption of diesel.

These mobile structures come to the aid of populations, but pollute and are no longer in tune with the challenges of the 21st century.

New solutions now exist.

They are worn by Enedis throughout France and in particular for the next Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, of which the company is an official supporter.

“Paris 2024 is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the Games.

They came to see us so that we could support them in this objective, in particular for the connection of all the sites to the electricity distribution network.

We have this know-how for sensitive places like hospitals, state buildings, so we could do it for sport or sporting events,” explains Nicolas Perrin, regional director for Paris at Enedis.
