The results are clear: to reduce gender inequalities, we must encourage women to take more risks, believe the French. On the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, AGIPI,
Challenges
magazine and BFM Business commissioned a survey from Odoxa. Indeed, respondents (and even more female respondents, 89%) are convinced of the importance of taking risks to succeed. However, 63% of women say they do not take it in their professional life, compared to 53% of men. The majority of them say they have missed opportunities in the world of work due to a lack of self-confidence and because they did not dare to take risks. One in two women even admit that they are incapable of doing something if they are not absolutely sure and certain that they can do it. So are women still too “cautious” in their professional lives, but also in terms of savings, as the Odoxa survey indicates? To give them that taste for risk that characterizes so many men, AGIPI is renewing its partnership with Femmes Business Angels, a network of 170 investors who support start-ups and encourage women to play an active role in the development of economy.
AGIPI committed to women
AGIPI has always been committed to women by adding pioneering guarantees in its contracts (“young mother” coverage to allow them to enjoy their new life, innovative guarantee against intra-family violence, absence of new deductible in the event of breast reconstruction following breast cancer, for example). It is important to protect the lives of women so that they can work and do business in the best possible conditions. Because numerous studies highlight the positive impact of women and diversity in the economic world, AGIPI also organizes WINDAYS, the next of which will take place on May 29 in Lille and September 19 in Rennes. Prepared with Femmes Business Angels, these days of debates and meetings stimulate the desire for female entrepreneurship. At a time when only one in three companies is created by a woman, AGIPI wants to break the glass ceiling, change representations and make women more daring than ever.
