A 1982 commercial for McDonald's Nuggets
Businessman Omri Padan is selling McDonald's restaurants in Israel to the parent company - McDonald's Global. Padan owns the chain through the Aluniel company, when upon completion of the transaction, McDonald's Global will own the chain in Israel and the conditions of the employees will be maintained.
The chain, which is considered one of the most successful in Israel, currently has 225 branches nationwide and employs about 5,000 people. It began its activity more than 30 years ago, with the launch of the first branch in Ayalon Mall. The agreement is subject to certain conditions, which will be concluded in the coming months.
The company refused to disclose the amount for which the chain was sold. Sources close to the deal estimated that McDonald's Global will not actually operate the chain but will enter into a new franchise deal as it does in the vast majority that includes about 95% of the brand's restaurants in the world.

The chain announced last January that it would open 13 new branches this year.
Five branches will be located in BIG centers that are planned to open in Giloli, Or Akiva, Gedera, Kermi Gat and Migdal Ha'Emek and branches in the SEVEN complexes that will
open this year in Berhat and Tamara. Ahead of Passover, a restaurant will be opened in Top Dan Tel Aviv and later also in the renewed Jaffa port. A total of 17 branches will operate in Tel Aviv by the end of the year.
Two more branches will be opened in Ashdod, which will open in the renewed marina and in the 16th district. In the city of Modi'in, a third branch will be opened in the new Moreshet neighborhood.
Along with the openings, the chain will also invest in renovating and upgrading branches, including the old branch in Dizengoff Center, the Promenade branch in Tel Aviv, Beit Hakarem in Jerusalem, Tzemach Junction and BILO Junction. The
successful restaurant chain is currently celebrating thirty years since the opening of its first flagship branch in the Elon Mall in Ramat Gan , which was recently renovated and renovated.
