A petition in the face of “an untenable situation”. The 40 million motorists association is calling for a cap on fuel prices in an online petition on its website.
She calls on the government to implement “a fuel tax reform in order to guarantee the price of a liter of fuel at a service station always lower than 1.50 euros”. This is the “only acceptable limit price”, she believes.
A liter of SP95-E10 is now priced at 1.90 euros, a level not reached in six months, while diesel has increased by 2.5 cents in a week. In particular: American overconsumption and the war in Ukraine.
For the association, this price increase would represent in one year “an additional cost of more than 200 euros per year for each motorist”.
“This situation is no longer tenable,” denounces 40 million motorists. The State must act urgently to reform taxation on fuels, in order to moderate their prices and preserve the mobility and purchasing power of French households. »
This petition is reminiscent of the one launched by Priscillia Ludosky at the origin of the Yellow Vest movement in 2018. The text entitled “For a reduction in prices at the pump” had collected more than a million signatures. Thousands of rallies and filter blockades had flourished on the roundabouts of cities across the country.
