Tehran-Sana
The National Iranian Company for the Distribution of Oil Derivatives confirmed the return of 80 percent of the country's gas stations to work as usual.
The company had announced yesterday that the electronic refueling system had stopped working due to a technical defect in the filling cards, while some Iranian sources indicated a possible cyber attack on the fuel card system.
The company's CEO, Karamat Weis Karmi, said in a statement today, reported by Fars News Agency, that since this morning, 2,800 work stations have started to provide refueling service across the country.
He pointed out that about 240 of the aforementioned total stations are currently connected to the company's electronic system so that it is possible to use smart cards designated for regulated quotas, and it is likely that all stations will return to work before noon today.
