The Tournaire jewelry house, artist Richard Orlinski and BIC unveiled this Wednesday three versions of the famous pen, one of which is in gold set with 202 diamonds.

It is a 4 Colors that you are not likely to find in school kits.

Born from the imagination of BIC, the jewelry and decoration house Tournaire and the artist Richard Orlinski, it becomes an artistic creation and a luxury item.

It is to Mathieu Tournaire, general manager of the Tournaire house that we owe the idea of this revisit of the famous pen.

While he was at a trade show ten years earlier, his press officer told him that his 4 Colors pen was sticking out of his pocket and that

"it didn't look very classy"

.

She then advises him to

"spin" it.

Never mind, the artist jeweler creates a bronze version for his personal use which he shows, a few years later, to the CEO of BIC.

The idea of a collaboration between the manufacturer and the designer was born.

The duo was subsequently added to the French contemporary art artist Richard Orlinski and to three, they think the 4 Colors unveiled this Wednesday.

202 diamonds

Three versions have thus emerged. One in bronze in three different colors (plated with white gold, pink gold and yellow bronze), the other in gold and the third in gold set with 202 diamonds, i.e. 1.40 carats. This last model exists only in eight specimens and costs the tidy sum of 24,500 euros.

"I do not like to insist on the price but rather on the number of working hours and the dozens of different skills put to work"

, explains Mathieu Tournaire to

Le Figaro

. The bronze and gold versions are sold respectively at 390 and 11,500 euros. All are available on the BIC, artist Richard Orlinski and Tournaire website, as well as in their physical stores.

“I like to move the codes.

By mixing these three worlds, we obtain an object that detonates ”

, welcomes Mathieu Tournaire, who is not at his first attempt.

In 2016, the house collaborated with the petanque boules brand Obut to create the

“most expensive triplet in the world”

but also the

“most expensive

bottle

in the world”

in partnership with the Martinican company Rhum Clément. .
