Professional organizations and unions in the advertising sector announced Thursday the signing of a branch agreement on harassment at work and gender-based violence, according to a statement.

The agreement signed on July 8 is "

a significant step forward for employees and advertising companies of all sizes and whether or not they have employee representatives

," said these organizations.

It is the result of "

eight months of negotiations

" and brings together professional organizations (Association of communication consulting agencies AACC, Union of consulting companies and media buying Udecam, and Union of media and advertising media UMSP which brings together the sectors of television, billboards and directories) and professional and employee unions (3C CFDT, FILPAC CGT, SNCTPP CFE CGC, SNPEP / FEC FO, SNPUB CFTC and UNSA Spectacle et Communication).

According to the press release, the agreement aims to "

structure the prevention

" of these actions within companies, and provides a "

frame of reference

" with tools, contacts, clauses in the employment contract and procedures to react in the event of a report.

Concretely, it contains an obligation to train harassment officers and employee representatives within companies on these issues, or requires the company to inform employees of the tools available to them.

It is applicable "

on a voluntary basis

" since its signature, until it is extended and made compulsory for all companies in the sector by the Ministry of Labor, "

normally by the end of the year

", a AACC told AFP.

The initiative was announced last November, after a series of testimonies of harmful professional behavior and sexist remarks within communication agencies, which targeted in particular big names in the sector.
