The search for a buyer is the subject of a standoff between the CEO of the company, Guillaume de Feydeau, and its owner.

The German fund Aurelius, specializing in the turnaround of companies in difficulty, bought Office Depot Europe for 1 euro in 2017. It does not wish to continue the adventure of the French subsidiary and has not presented a continuation plan.

Under these conditions, Guillaume de Feydeau, who had launched a recovery plan for the company, filed a plan to take over Office Depot France for 2 euros as part of a disposal plan.

He says he is optimistic for the future of the company he has managed since 2019, and whose results improved at the end of 2020, despite the Covid crisis.
