Attacks in Brussels: Abdeslam and nine other men will be tried at the assizes

Salah Abdeslam and nine other men suspected of being involved in the jihadist attacks perpetrated on March 22, 2016 in Brussels were definitively returned this Friday to the Assize Court of the Belgian capital, announced the federal prosecutor's office.

Six of these ten men are currently on trial in Paris.

"Ten defendants referred today to the Assize Court by the indictments chamber of Brussels," tweeted Eric Van Duyse, spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office.

As planned last January, a final procedural step validated this decision, and it is no longer subject to appeal.

The trial is scheduled to begin in a year.

On March 22, 2016, a double bomb attack, at Zaventem international airport and then in the metro of the European capital, was perpetrated by the Franco-Belgian cell which had raged in Paris and Saint-Denis in November 2015. 32 people were killed and more than 340 were injured.
