After making billions in profits in 2021, Deutsche Bank has also got off to a good start in the current year, according to the Management Board.
Last year, the institute "put itself in an excellent starting position for 2022, for the decisive year of our transformation," said CEO Christian Sewing, according to the text of the speech, on Thursday at the balance sheet presentation of the Dax group in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt/Main - “And the start to the first quarter increases my confidence that we know how to use this position.
The first few weeks have already gone very well.”
Sewing was confident that the bank would achieve the targets set by the board for the current financial year - "above all, a return on tangible equity of eight percent after taxes".
Last year, this figure was 3.8 percent.

After turbulent years, the bank has managed to turn the tide, Sewing summed up: "The downward spiral has turned into an upward spiral." The shareholders should also increasingly benefit from this.
“We are determined to gradually increase the distribution to our owners over the coming years.
Many shareholders have remained loyal to us even in the most difficult times.
Now is the time to reward that trust,” Sewing said.
