Consolidating as a global social network is not simple.
And while there were a few who made it to the top, the biggest challenge is staying.
Clubhouse, the live audio application, swings in that dilemma.
Finally, after many months of waiting, the app to create private chats announced its exit from the beta phase and its
availability to any user
without the need for a waiting list, a change made in both Android and Apple iOS.
The company reported on its official blog that they
have withdrawn the waiting list system
and since Wednesday, any user with a club or an event can send a link to the conversation so that whoever wants to join it.
However, with the massive entry of users, privacy problems also arrive and the number of attacks begins to escalate.
A database of
3.8 billion phone numbers linked to Clubhouse
was discovered this week
.
Full phone number database of #Clubhouse is up for sale on the #Darknet.
It contains 3.8 billion phone numbers.
These are not just members but also people in contact lists that were synced.

These lists appeared on the so-called darknet or dark web and the leaked mobile numbers belonged both to users of the social network
and to contacts of these people
.
The leak not only affects those who have a profile on the network,
but also people who have never entered Clubhouse. The
reason is that users have the contact list synchronized with the app, as the researcher from the Swiss company scip has pointed out. AG, Marc Ruef, on Twitter.
The problem is that the app requests access to the user's address book
to benefit from this information
.
Already in the privacy policy they indicate that they will use the personal data of the users, among other things, to develop new products and services.
Far from acknowledging the incident,
Clubhouse has denied that this is a leak from its application
.
In a statement, he assured that the platform has invested in security and the latest technology to avoid these types of vulnerabilities.

And he argues that the database that is being auctioned on the internet - which does not include user identifications, only phone numbers -
is not from their servers and that they are random numbers that create bots
.
Sustained growth
Despite this slip,
the application's prospects are encouraging
.
The access system used so far has allowed Clubhouse managers to grow in a more or less controlled way, although they always intended for the application to be open.
This social network was created last year, but its popularity grew when Elon Musk was invited in January.
Since then, the daily rooms have grown from 50,000 to half a million, and the community
has
grown by
about 10 million people
since the arrival of the Android beta in mid-May.
The direct messages channel, launched last week, already counts
90 million messages sent
.
To accompany the opening of the service, the Clubhouse managers have presented the
new logo
, the new application icon and the new website along with the update for iOS and Android.
They assure that they will offer
updates every one or two weeks.
