Macronie again in turmoil.
After the complaint filed for rape against Secretary of State Chrysoula Zacharopoulou on Wednesday, it's an old case that comes to the surface.
Confirming information from Liberation, Le Parisien learned that the former minister of the armies Sylvie Goulard was the subject of a new complaint from Anticor, an association fighting against corruption in France.
The complaint filed on June 10, with civil action, should lead to the appointment of an independent investigating judge and the opening of a judicial investigation.
According to Liberation - who was able to read the complaint made by Élise van Beneden, the president of Anticor - the investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) closed without further action, concerning a supposed fictitious job of Sylvie Goulard for the American think thank the Berggruenun Institute, had been "summary and superficial".
This prompted Anticor to return to the charge.
According to the association, the main questioning was not even heard personally.
Filed in 2019, Anticor's complaint targeted the links of the former Minister of the Armed Forces with the Berggruenun Institute, which paid him 350,000 euros between 2013 and 2016. According to Liberation, this classification without follow-up by the PNF had been in particular provoked by a report from the European Anti-Fraud Office (Olaf) which had concluded that there was “no conflict of interest”, even though she was still a Member of the European Parliament.
Suspicion of fictitious employment and conflict of interest
Problem, "Libé" argues that Sylvie Goulard would have contented herself with co-writing two fifteen-page notes and organizing a round table in Brussels, when she received a salary of 13,000 euros per month.
“We did activities related to reflection, group facilitation, organization of meetings.
It is a job that has been proven”, defended the main interested party in 2019, acknowledging that her salary could “raise questions”.
Through its complaint, Anticor “wishes to ask simple questions to justice: why was an elected official paid more than 10,000 euros per month by an organization whose undisguised objective is to influence public decision-makers?

Another point that prompted Anticor to file a complaint was the role of Sylvie Goulard in the European Parliament.
In 2016, the latter was rapporteur on financial, monetary and regulatory subjects in particular.

Anticor had then pointed the finger at the fact that Sylvie Goulard had voted "sensitive reports relating in particular to the introduction of regulations and financial mechanisms on a European scale, likely to interest the Berggruen Institute, made up in part of financiers and leaders of foreign multinationals.
