The Emirates airline group has decided to lay off a number of its employees due to the difficulties caused by the Corona virus crisis.
The group, which employs about 100,000 people, said in a statement today quoted by Agence France-Presse: "We have reviewed all possible scenarios to maintain our operational operations, but we have come to the conclusion that unfortunately we have to bid farewell to a number of wonderful people who worked with us."
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expected earlier this month that global airlines would lose $ 314 billion in revenue due to the Corona virus pandemic this year, up from its previous estimate in March that losses would be $ 252 billion.
