The Hungarian Foreign Ministry announced that the Russian company, Gazprom, has started pumping additional quantities of natural gas to Hungary in a way that exceeds the concluded contracts.
"The pumping of additional quantities of natural gas to Hungary came as a result of discussions held by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Sciarto in Moscow a while ago," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
The ministry pointed out that additional quantities of gas estimated at 2.6 million cubic meters per day will be pumped into the country through the Turkish Stream pipeline before the end of this August.
Gazprom suspended gas supplies to a number of European countries due to its refusal to pay for it in Russian rubles.
