It is almost 4 p.m. on September 9 when Jean-Baptiste Watel ends his daily walk in the Parc de la Villette in Paris (19th century).
A native of Pas-de-Calais, now living in the Oise, he returns to his son's house, at Terrasses du Parc, opposite the City of Science and Industry, where he lives every other week.
At 92, this retired policeman moves with difficulty, with a cane.
But his good physical condition still allows him to walk one kilometer every day.
“My father started working when he was 10 years old.
This life of hard work has hardened him physically.
At 70, he was still an athlete, ”underlines his son Jérôme, 59.
