Maor winegrower, owner of Guy Maor Ltd. engaged in importing luxury cars to Israel, was brought yesterday before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court for allegedly forging documents, import and customs offenses in the amount of half a million. Judge Segal Zohar Devon suspect released on restrictive conditions.
Seeks arrest shows that The Tel Aviv Customs and VAT Investigations Department and the Center are conducting an investigation in cooperation with the import control of Ashdod Customs, against Korem, a resident of Ashkelon.
As part of the investigation, the suspicion arose that in 2019 Korem forged import documents of dozens of luxury vehicles he would import from European countries through the company he owns, including Porsche BMW, Land Rover and Mercedes.
According to the suspicion, the suspect submitted the forged documents to customs at the time of release of the vehicles and thus enjoyed unlawful tax relief.
The findings of the investigation raise suspicion of a systematic forgery of the import documents that led to the evasion of tax payment in the amount of about half a million shekels.
The Honorable Justice Zohar Divon Segal of the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion released the suspect on restrictive conditions, including a self-guarantee of NIS 200,000, a third-party guarantee to be bound by 2 guarantors of NIS 50,000 each and a 180-day delay in leaving the country.
