"I'll take this dry shampoo first and massage it in like you would normally do on earth."

How do you actually wash your hair in space?

US astronaut Megan McArthur gives valuable tips from the ISS.

The recordings are not only intended to bring life in space closer to the normal population on earth, but are also of interest as weightless life hacks for space tourists.

For example for this crew of the space company SpaceX from US entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Your mission »Inspiration4« starts on Wednesday, the rocket is to orbit the earth for three days.

The specialty: There are four people on board, none of whom are professional astronauts.

Much has been reported in recent months about billionaires who fly into space for a few minutes, heralding the age of space tourism.

Pure ego show by Richard Branson and Co. or a meaningful expansion of space travel?

To prevent criticism, the "Inspiration4" mission is linked to a fundraising campaign as a precaution: the aim is to collect as much money as possible for the US children's hospital St. Jude in Memphis, which specializes in childhood cancer.

Good wishes for the start come from the ISS:

Megan McArthur, ISS astronaut

"It's a very exciting time and I would say: To the people who are coming up here soon, the team of inspiration: Good luck!"

Mark Vande Hei, ISS astronaut

»I hope and wish that the people who spend the money on a space flight will be happy in the end that they did it.

And that they bring experiences with them that they can share with us so that we can better understand our wonderful planet in the future. "

Whether missions like "Inspiration4" actually bring scientific knowledge to light remains a matter of dispute. The fact is: until now, such flights into space were mainly reserved for the super-rich and their guests. This mission should now be a further step in the direction of mass tourism in space.
