American actress Anne Haish was involved in a serious car accident on Friday that left her with severe burns and on a ventilator in the hospital, US media reports.
According to reports, the actress was driving her blue Mini Cooper on a suburban street in Los Angeles around noon and crashed into the garage of an apartment complex.
According to the TMZ website, bystanders tried to help Hayes out of the vehicle, but she backed up and continued driving until she crashed into another house, where her car burst into flames.
In Fox11's aerial video, you can see that the vehicle crashed deep inside the building, with smoke billowing out.
Hayes was taken away on a stretcher while conscious by the Los Angeles Fire Department, and is hospitalized and on a ventilator, and according to TMZ sources - "expected to live."
The fire department told Deadline Hollywood that 59 firefighters battled the stubborn flames in the damaged building for over an hour, until they finally managed to put it out.
The 53-year-old Hayes gained recognition when she starred in the soap opera "Another World" between 1987 and 1991, which earned her an Emmy Award for daytime programming.
She became more mainstream in the late 1990s with roles in films such as Donnie Brasco, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Six Days, Seven Nights and Back to Malaysia.
She also starred on television in series such as "Men on Trees", "Equipped" and recently in the series "The Court!".
Soon she is expected to star alongside singer The Weeknd in The Idol, a new series from "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson.
