The constantly growing municipality of Karlsfeld wants to expand the range of public transport.
But that is sometimes not so easy.
Karlsfeld – grammar school building, development of the Ludl site on Münchner Strasse, planned commercial area on Schleißheimer Strasse: the municipality of Karlsfeld is constantly growing and changing.
The bus service must grow here, demanded the alliance for Karlsfeld and formulated wishes and goals in an application (we reported).
However, the responsible district has most of it on the screen anyway, as Peter Simon from the district office explained at the meeting of the environmental and transport committee of the Karlsfeld municipal council.
With its eight bus routes, Karlsfeld already has a "very, very respectable range of services," said Simon.
This offer is constantly being reviewed and expanded.
However, it takes three to four years from the initial idea to the bus being on the route before a new line can go into operation.
One main reason: Many people have a say, not only the district but also the municipality as well as MVG and MVV.
Alliance spokesman Peter Neumann said that his group submitted the application so early "because it takes so long".
The grammar school on Bayernwerkstrasse is scheduled to open in the 2025/26 school year.
When the Ludl site will be developed and when the first companies will move into the new commercial area is still completely open.
Simon took a concrete position on the goals and wishes mentioned by the alliance:
High school connection: Line 702 is intended to ensure the connection.
In any case, line 160 already runs in this area.
Connection to the Ludl site: According to Simon, one idea could be to have line 160 run through the construction area and no longer via the “Einkaufsmärkte” stop.
According to Simon, the prerequisite is a line-compatible road layout in the construction area.
In addition, details would have to be clarified, for example with the MVG and the city of Munich.
Conversations have already taken place.
Commercial area Schleißheimer Straße: The connection was planned with the tender for line 701 or line 175, but was postponed by decision of the district committees due to corona.
"The line isn't completely dead yet," Simon said, but it will be costly to set up.
.
Direct connection of the craftsmen's settlement to the S-Bahn station: There is currently a connection via line 701 with a change to line 710, the journey time is around 25 minutes in total.
"That's not the fastest connection," admitted Simon.
A direct connection would only be possible with the use of additional buses and is "difficult in terms of traffic planning".
Enormous additional costs are to be expected.
The other areas listed by the alliance are sufficiently connected: the schools on Krenmoosstraße, the three markets, the new center, the indoor pool and the TSV sports grounds.
The municipal council's transport committee is aware that a lack of coordination between the individual bus routes can sometimes become a nuisance, which is why commuters in particular prefer to use their cars.
"It's just annoying when the bus drives away in front of you," said CSU municipal councilor and traffic officer Bernd Wanka.

However, there is a major reason for this problem: Karlsfeld does not have a central transfer point like the city of Dachau.
"But we have that on the screen," assured Simon.
