The second economic forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will last for two days, kicked off in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, today.

The Russian Interfax news agency quoted the press office of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade as saying in a statement: The economic forum held today will be an effective platform not only for establishing intergovernmental dialogue, but also for interaction between representatives of the business community, as well as for attracting investors to the economies of the OIC countries.

The agenda of the forum includes a plenary session, discussion sessions and bilateral meetings designed to unleash the potential of the digital economy, green technologies, cooperation between regions, building investment cooperation, industrial cooperation and other priority areas.

It is noteworthy that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international Eurasian political, economic and security organization that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai and signed the charter of the organization in 2002 and entered into force in 2003. It includes six countries: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
