A pilot crashed in a plane crash in Russia six years ago and killed 49 more people. According to the investigators, the man had no valid papers. He had given false information to obtain a permit to fly, said the investigating committee in Moscow now.
The authorities had therefore failed in 2009 to verify the details of the pilot card. Thus it was possible that the man "without basic knowledge and experiences" steered a plane.
Airline deprived of the operating permit
The investigators blamed pilot mistakes for the accident. In addition, the rules for emergencies had not been observed, the report said.
The Boeing 737-500 was hit hard on the runway in November 2013 while approaching the airport of the Russian city of Kazan. The machine with 44 passengers and six crew members went up in flames. There were no survivors.
The Tatarstan Airlines company was on its way from Moscow to Kazan on the Volga. The city is located more than 700 kilometers east of the Russian capital. The company was revoked after the incident, the operating permit.
