What was supposed to be a routine surgery, became days later a tragedy. Julieta Viñales, 18, suffered a hemorrhage after a tonsil surgery and has brain death .

This was diagnosed by doctors at the Rawson hospital in San Juan.

After consulting a doctor for sore throats and being recommended a small surgery to remove the tonsils, the young woman was operated and now the family points to the doctor for an alleged malpractice .

According to the reconstruction of the local media, Julieta withdrew from the hospital shortly after surgery, but hours later she began to vomit blood and, after being hospitalized, finally three days later she suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest.

Diario de Cuyo published that "the family recalled that to the initial list of medications indicated by Babsía, after operating it, he added another for the control of hemorrhages."

Julieta, who lives in Buenos Aires where she studies Medicine , took advantage of the summer break to visit her family in San Juan and it was there that she made the consultation that finally led to an unthinkable tragedy.

"The situation is so extraordinary that professionals from the Rawson Hospital told relatives of Julieta's family that in 30 years of service there was not even a history of hospitalization due to malpractice in the case of tonsil removal," said the Cuyano media .
