Coronavirus: cocktail bar, estimated losses above 50%

A turnover loss of over 50% up to -80%: this is what managers and owners of Italian cocktail bars estimate for 2020 as a consequence of the health emergency due to the coronavirus. The data emerges with the survey on the world of Italian cocktail bars (from hotel bars to restaurant bars, including luxury ones) created by the BlueBlazeR Guide to the Best Cocktail Bars in Italy on the premises present in the 2020 edition.

The economic questionnaire had a response rate of 82.4%. Numbers in hand, from the analysis it emerges that 56% of the interviewees believe that they will suffer a decrease of more than 50% of their turnover and 23% of the people questioned estimate to suffer damage greater than 80%.

Analyzing in detail the situation in the two main Italian cities, Rome and Milan, it emerges that 90% of the premises of the capital estimate to have a drop between 21% and 80%. While, over half (55%) of the bars in the Lombard capital, imagine a limited loss of between 21% and 50% of turnover.

From the point of view of type of bar, 79% of hotel bars estimate a drop in their turnover of over 50% (in particular, 32% over 80%), while 77% of cocktail bars expect a drop between 21% and 80% (48% limits their loss forecast between 21% and 50%). Analysts point out that the sector appears less dependent on the non-influx of tourists: 56% of the interviewees, in fact, quantify the tourist contribution to their turnover, less than 50%
