Twitter also enters the negotiations to buy the TikTok app, after Donald Trump has declared it a threat to national security by forcing the owning company ByteDance to sell.
The San Francisco company has already had preliminary talks, according to the Wall Street Journal. However, Microsoft remains in pole position for the acquisition. And not only because it is already at an advanced stage in the negotiations but also because Twitter is a much smaller company and would have a harder time paying.
