Many studies have already examined the best time to exercise, but a new study has found that the time of day you exercise may be beneficial for some people, but for some it can be fatal.

According to the study, published in the journal Diabetes Care, men with type 2 diabetes and exercising in the morning are at higher risk of having a heart attack.

"The general message to our patient population remains that you should exercise whenever you can, because regular exercise provides significant health benefits. However, researchers studying the effects of exercise need to consider timing as an additional consideration so that we can give better recommendations to the general public. How time of day can affect the relationship between exercise and cardiovascular health, "said study author Dr Gingyi Qian of Brigham Hospital, who co-authored the study with Jocelyn Diabetes Center researchers.

According to various estimates, the number of type 2 diabetics in the world will reach 319 million in 2025.

In Israel, as in other countries, diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases, and although it has a treatment, it is a burden on the patient and his family, as well as on the medical system.

Qian's team operated on more than 2,000 patients with type 2 diabetes and overweight or obesity.

They identified a link between training scheduling and the risk of developing heart disease.

The authors used data from the Look AHEAD (Action for Health in Diabetes) study, which began in 2001. It followed the health of overweight or obese patients in the United States and type 2 diabetes. The study population was well characterized at the beginning of the study, with detailed metabolic measurements And exercise.

To assess the chances of volunteers experiencing coronary heart disease over the next four years, the researchers used a measure called the Framingham Risk Score - based on information about human age, sex, blood pressure, cholesterol and smoking history.

The study found that men who had type 2 diabetes and who exercised in the morning had the highest risk of developing coronary heart disease, regardless of the amount and intensity of weekly activity.

The men who were most active towards noon had lower cardiovascular fitness levels.

In women, however, the researchers found no association between specific activity scheduling and risk of coronary heart disease or cardiac fitness.

Specific physiological differences between the sexes may help explain the more prominent correlations seen in men, who tend to be at risk earlier in life.

However, researchers say that other factors may also play a role, and that it is not clear why a specific activity at a specific time may be related to different levels of health.

Several significant studies on the subject have shown that morning exercise is not only less effective than evening training, it may even put the gymnast at increased risk for heart disease, and the American Heart Association even advises people who suffer from heart problems or high blood pressure to avoid morning exercise.

The reason for this is probably related to the fact that in the morning the hormones cortisol and adrenaline are secreted in our body, which causes the blood to flow faster and increases the risk of stroke and heart disease.

By the way, blood circulation is better and it is easier to develop muscles and improve endurance in the afternoon.
