(ANSA) - ALMATY, 05 JAN - A group of demonstrators in Almaty, the economic capital of Kazakhstan, broke into the building that houses the office of the mayor of the city today.
Shortly before, the police had thrown stun grenades at the angry crowd that for days had been protesting against the rise in gas prices without, however, being able to prevent them from entering the building.
This was reported by a journalist from the AFP news agency on the spot.
Some demonstrators seized police rings and shields.
