Meatballs in tomato sauce is one of the most popular family dishes.

Orly Plai takes her for a flavor-strengthening round in the East and returns with a pot of patties in a tomato sauce rich in Asian spices like ginger, garlic, chili, coriander seeds and cumin and together with coconut cream, creates a rich and thick sauce that sits just perfect over white rice.

Ingredients

  • For patties:

    • 500 g ground beef

    • 1 finely chopped onion

    • 2 grated or crushed garlic cloves

    • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

    • 4 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves

    • 1 egg

    • דק Thin couscous is prepared according to the instructions on the package

    • Black pepper to taste

  • For the sauce:

    • 2 tablespoons oil

    • 2 cloves chopped garlic

    • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

    • 1 thinly sliced ​​red hot pepper

    • 5 chopped tomatoes (possible with the peel)

    • 1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds

    • ½ A teaspoon of cumin

    • ½ Coconut custard

    • Basil leaves

    • Cooked white rice

Preparation

How to make patties in tomato curry?

  • 1

    Prepare the patty mixture:

    Mix the minced meat with the rest of the patty ingredients.

    Put well in hands to connect the ingredients.

    Set aside.

    Approach the sauce:

    Heat a saucepan with oil and fry the garlic, ginger and chili until fragrant.

  • 3 Add the tomatoes to the pot along with the spices and cook for about 5-7 minutes while bubbling gently.

  • 4 Pour the coconut cream into the pot and mix.

  • 5 Make patties from the meat mixture with your hands and add to the sauce.

    Bring to a gentle boil.

  • 6 Transfer the pot to the lowest heat and cook for 20 minutes with a lid.

    At the end of cooking, add basil leaves and serve on white rice.
