(ANSA) - PARMA, APRIL 11 - Patrick Mallardo, 19, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first degree, accused of the murder of Daniele Tanzi, a contemporary living in Casalmaggiore.
The victim was the current boyfriend of the defendant's ex.
Tanzi was killed with 33 stab wounds the night between 4 and 5 May 2021 in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Parma.
The sentence was pronounced by the Court of Assizes: for the judges there was no premeditation, as instead requested by the prosecutor, but the young accused were recognized for futile reasons.
Mallardo, according to the sentence of the Court chaired by the judge Alessandro Conti, in addition to the court costs, will have to pay a provisional fee of 300 thousand euros for Tanzi's mother, another 300 thousand for the father and 170 thousand euros for each of the other children.
Mallardo was instead acquitted of the accusation of ill-treatment against his ex-girlfriend, who was present on the night of the crime in the abandoned factory.
