(ANSA) - PALERMO, AUGUST 18 - The Public Prosecutor of Marsala, directed by Roberto Piscitello, has opened an investigation into the fire that had devastated hectares of vegetation in Pantelleria.
The nature of the stake is still uncertain.

The prosecutors are acquiring the photogrammetric surveys and all the municipal ordinances on the prevention and management of fires.
The photogrammetric surveys will be useful to understand from the burns on the ground where the fire started and how it may have spread in consideration of the strong discirocco wind that has blown on the island since yesterday.
While the trade union ordinances will clarify whether all the necessary measures have been taken to prevent and manage any fires in an area that in summer due to high temperatures is often hit by devastating fires.
"A negligent fire, caused by human neglect, would not be considered less serious than an intentional one", comments the prosecutor of Marsala, Piscitello.
