(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 18 AUG - Salman Rushdiesi's assailant is again found not guilty of the crime of second degree attempted murder.
24-year-old Hadi Matar appeared in court after being indicted by a grand jury.
He had already pleaded not guilty on Saturday.
Matar arrived in court handcuffed, wearing a prison uniform with black and white stripes, and a Covid mask.
For attempted second degree murder he risks up to 25 years.
The next hearing in the Rushdie assault trial will be held on September 22, also in Mayville, New York.
