Protesters protested overnight in 15 Iranian cities, blocking traffic, setting fire to police bins and vehicles, throwing stones at security forces and chanting anti-government slogans.

Men and women, many of whom had taken off their veils, gathered in Tehran and other major cities, including Mashhad (north-east), Tabriz (north-west), Rasht (north), Isfahan (center) and Kish (south).

In yesterday's protests, five people were killed by security forces in the Kurdish region of Iran during the violent protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old arrested by the moral police for not wearing a veil correctly and deceased from mistreatment.
The victims, according to the Kurdish human rights group Hengaw, based in Norway, were reportedly shot dead in Kurdistan (Mahsa region of origin), where police fired on men, women and children streets.
The spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office also says that "two to five people" have lost their lives.
