But does it really affect the heating bill if curtains are attached to the windows?

In fact, curtains save energy, so the advice is right.
"You may not believe it, but even a thin and light-transparent curtain can improve the energy efficiency of an older window that was installed in the early 90s or earlier by up to 30 percent," Christian Handwerk told the

He goes on to say that curtains are often underestimated as a way of saving energy.

It should flow past the curtain on the inside and then into the room," said Handwerk.
