Dorian is "worse than anyone on Earth could have expected," says a Bahamas resident

By Gianluca Mezzofiore of CNN

Michael Hynes, 33, spent the last two nights taking refuge from Hurricane Dorian inside his office in the Bahamas Industrial Technologies building in Freeport, along with his brothers Matthew and Jeremy, his friend Linda Rose and 5 dogs.

“We prepare for the worst and hope for the best. But this is worse than anyone on Earth could have expected. Unimaginable, ”he told CNN, adding that he only managed to sleep for a few hours.

He said there is no running water, the service was cut the first night of the storm.

"We're fine, but not many people," he said.

He described the wind from Hurricane Dorian as "the worst in the world."

“I can't describe it. Have you ever been in a hurricane? If so, it was twice as bad. It's a constant train that sounds like noise for the last 30 hours or so, ”he said.

Hynes shared a video that shows a path surrounded by water. “All you can see is water, all the white you see is water. That building is also underwater, ”he said in the video.
