Velayati: Washington's strategy in the region is to target countries and make them powerless to plunder their wealth

The adviser to the leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran for International Affairs and the President of the World Assembly for the Islamic Awakening, Ali Akbar Velayati, said that the US strategy in the region is based on targeting countries and making them powerless to plunder their wealth.

"After the failure of the new Middle East strategy and proxy wars in the West Asia region, the US-led global arrogance has taken steps to achieve its goals of providing security for the Zionist entity and controlling," Velayati was quoted as saying by Iran's state news agency Tasnim. The economic arteries and energy sources in the region are repositioning in a new way. ”

Velayati pointed out that the new US strategy relies on controlling the infrastructure, resources and oil installations and make governments unable to provide these resources and the expenses of running the country and looting their wealth and then rendered powerless from within to be attacked by proxy from the Zionist entity or directly from the United States itself.

For his part, Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami said that the only way to deal with sanctions is to strengthen and expand the force in all vital components, especially the defense force.

"The arrogance regime is trying with all its capabilities and allies to reach the infrastructure, cultural, political, economic and especially military programs in Iran, but the awareness of the Iranian officials and people has foiled the plots of the enemies," Hatami said at a specialized symposium in Tehran today.

For his part, Chairman of the Special Committee for the Protection of National Production of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council Hamid Reza Voladker said that the development of economic diplomacy is the way to overcome the unfair US embargo measures imposed on Iran.

"The development of economic diplomacy will lead to improved political relations and is one of the best ways to thwart US conspiracies," Voladker said. "Iran has been waiting for years for the results of the nuclear agreement and the mechanism of trade (Instex), while taking advantage of the potential of neighboring countries, especially Asia Central, Russia, China and India would have been possible to minimize the effects of the unjust embargo.
