Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation today with former Kazakhstan President Nur Sultan Nazarbayev, discussed the situation in Syria and ways to settle the crisis there.
Putin and Nazarbayev, according to what the Kremlin announced in a statement posted on its website, discussed issues related to the work visit that Nazarbayev plans to take to Moscow.
In turn, the press office of the former Kazakh President announced that Nazarbayev and Putin exchanged views on the urgent issues on the bilateral and international agendas, including the results of the Russian President's talks with the head of the Turkish regime in Moscow yesterday on Syria.
It is noteworthy that Nazarbayev is currently the head of the National Security Council in Kazakhstan after he resigned from the Kazakhstan presidency in March last year.
