The bloc of national deputies of the Civic Coalition-ARI (CC-ARI) presented its request this Thursday to initiate a political trial of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for alleged
"poor performance and commission of crimes in the exercise of her functions."
This is a management that was implemented by the leader of that space, Elisa Carrió.
The order bears the signature of the head of the CC block in the lower house, Maximiliano Ferraro, and the rest of the members of the space
"By virtue of the powers conferred by Article 53 of the National Constitution - and the reasons of fact and law that we will describe below - we come to promote impeachment against the Vice President of the Nation, Dra. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, for considering it responsible for deploying behaviors of enormous institutional gravity, altering the institutional order and the democratic system enshrined in the National Constitution ", they expressed in the brief that they presented in Deputies.
It maintains that the Vice President "has developed a series of maneuvers that are intended to undermine the independence of the National Judicial Power and subject it to her personal and political interests, undermining its normal functioning."
"This, in our understanding, constitutes an enslavement to the Judicial Power and, therefore, a serious alteration of the constitutional order," they remarked.
And they added that these maneuvers are part of "a plan orchestrated by Cristina Kirchner - and carried out by officials linked to her - that aims to guarantee her impunity - and that of those officials who were part of her government, investigated for alleged acts of corruption. - obstructing the functioning of one of the powers of the State, in this case, the Judicial Power ".
The CC deputies had advanced the measure through a statement released days ago, in which they said that this year they presented to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Argentine Justice "a series of facts that account for the Subjugation of Argentine institutions by Cristina Kirchner ".
and "his attacks against the institutional order and the democratic system."
Opposition leaders recalled that in her most recent letter, the former president of the Nation "accused the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation of directing the process of lawfare, and the Judiciary of being carried out by a handful of officials for life who tolerated or protected the permanent violation of the Constitution and laws. '"
For the deputies of the CC-ARI, Cristina Kirchner's criticisms "configure the poor performance of the Vice President who presides over the body in charge of constitutionally prosecuting the judges of the Court."
The legislators who respond to Carrió say in the statement that "Direct and undue pressure on the members of the Court (...) are not only prohibited by the National Constitution and international norms, but are also more serious considering that the Vice President of the Nation would be the President of the Senate in the event of politically prosecuting the members of the Court (...) ".
They explained then that "given the seriousness of the events described, at the request of Elisa Carrió and with her advice, the block of deputies of the Civic Coalition will present this week a request for impeachment against the Vice President of the Nation, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner" .
