During the recent demolition of the service reservoir at Bishop Hill, Sham Shui Po, the huge arched Roman-style cistern built before the war was exposed, causing widespread appeals from the public for retention. The Water Supplies Department halted the project.

Yesterday (28th), police officers warned citizens who come here may violate the "restriction order".

As of late last night, it was reported that many citizens went to the service reservoir to shoot, and some online media had broadcast live, and some people were charged for violating the "restriction order".

At 2 o'clock in the morning today (29th), the reporter of "Hong Kong 01" went to the site to find out and found that there was a police car stationed at Balwick Street at the foot of the mountain, but it did not drive away; no police officers or staff were seen guarding the mountain.

The police said that the Sham Shui Po Police District received a report at 11:20 last night, saying that someone was suspected of gathering at the address.

Officers arrived at the scene and found 8 men (20 to 51 years old). After investigation, they were issued a fixed penalty notice for suspected violation of the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Chapter 599G) And advise other people present.

The news about the historic site of Bishop Mountain Reservoir came out yesterday and caused widespread response.

The citizens, district councillors and members of the Legislative Council all requested that the demolition work be suspended.

Cheng Yongshun, a member of the Kowloon West Legislative Council of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong, said yesterday that he had been informed by the Water Supplies Department that the authorities would meet with officers of the Antiquities and Monuments Office as soon as possible for inspection.

Former Democratic Party member of the Legislative Council and Yuen Long District Councillor Kwong Chun-yu said that he had immediately contacted the Secretary for Development, Wong Wai Lun, and asked the Antiquities and Monuments Office to follow up on the evaluation and protection of the monument.
