The Syrian General Insurance Corporation is studying a health insurance scheme that includes raising the ceiling of medical coverage for workers insured by the institution inside and outside hospitals with regard to laboratory, pharmacy and doctor services, including chronic medications.

In a statement to SANA's delegate, Dr. Nizar Ziyoud, Director General of the Foundation, explained that the aforementioned project includes four studies on the options available to the corporation, including increasing the financial limits for health insurance for insured workers inside hospitals to 2 million Syrian pounds or one and a half million pounds or one million pounds or 750 thousand Syrian pounds He explained that all the options are related according to the sources of financing.

In a related context, Zyoud confirmed that the institution is seeking to reach a 100% coverage rate in military hospitals without incurring the insured, after a contract was signed with the Military Medical Services Department to provide services in hospitals and military medical centers for health insurance card holders of the insurance institution, and it was started in Damascus at Tishreen Military Hospital and Central Al-Bassel and Al-Rawda specialists, revealing that the police hospitals are joining the institution's medical network.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian General Insurance Corporation announced in June last year the amendment of the medical coverage ceiling for workers insured by the institution in hospitals to become 650 thousand Syrian pounds annually instead of 500 thousand pounds, including 150 thousand for industrial alternatives instead of 100 thousand pounds previously based on the approval of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers .
