The fees caused controversy
The "Code of Aid for Primary Schools" of the Education Bureau specifies that schools can apply to the Education Bureau for class fees in order to meet the expenses for education. However, it does not specify the criteria for applying for class fees and the principles of the bureau's approval.
Some people in the industry have questioned that it is unreasonable for subsidiaries to receive government subsidies and charge parents similar tuition fees.
La Salle Primary School has charged 3,200 yuan in class fees since 2002. In 2017, it was rumored that the class fee would be increased to $5,000 in the new school year. This caused some parents to dissatisfied.
