In the midst of the second wave of coronavirus and the progress in the vaccination plan, Argentina fell in May to last place in an international ranking that assesses the management of the pandemic in 53 countries.
According to the "Resilience Ranking" prepared by the Bloomberg agency, based on health, social and economic parameters, among others,
the country lost two places and was at the bottom of the list last month
.
Although the focus of the pandemic is currently in Latin America and India, Argentina achieved worse results than Colombia, Brazil and Peru, to name a few examples.
And it was also three places below India, the second country with the most infections since the beginning of the disease.

Bloomberg, which analyzes only
economies whose GDP exceeds 200,000 million dollars
, considered that the countries that vaccinated the most reflected in their numbers a rise in the list.
Thus, in the top positions there were also changes. Praised for its management of the virus, the Asia-Pacific region starred in the seven biggest declines this month in the measurement.
Singapore lost the throne to New Zealand
, while Taiwan and Japan slipped out of the top 10 amid a lazy vaccination campaign and a resurgence of cases. Meanwhile, some of the world's deadliest outbreaks have continued in parts of Southeast and South Asia.
By contrast, the United States and some parts of Europe rose as the pandemic slowly receded in these locations.
With the increasing protection of vaccines, they are reopening travel, eliminating the use of chinstraps and trying to leave Covid-19 behind.
The UK climbed seven spots to 11th, while the United States came in at 13th.
In Europe there were important improvements
.
France and Poland rose 18 and 13 places respectively as new infections in both nations slowed, allowing them to ease restrictions, gradually reopen business and resume regional travel.
The Czech Republic also climbed 13 spots and Norway climbed eight spots.
Finally, Italy, which a year ago was the tragic epicenter of the fight against the virus, jumped seven places, relaxing restrictions on companies and general lockdowns after a decrease in serious cases.
