Although the police caught him at the time, the 41-year-old Cameroonian went into hiding.

Now he went into the network of the Federal Police at Munich Airport.

Airport / Erding

- In autumn 2018 he was caught red-handed when he tried to riot a businessman from Erdingen.

The Cameroonian then apparently went into hiding.

Since then, the law enforcement authorities in Upper and Lower Bavaria have been looking for the thief with an arrest warrant.

Federal police took him out of circulation late Tuesday evening at Munich Airport.

According to a police press release, the Cameroonian wanted to fly to Barcelona.

After spending a night with the federal police, the arrested person is now serving his sentence in Munich-Stadelheim.

The 41-year-old wanted to fly back to his adopted home Spain after visiting his girlfriend in the Munich area.

However, federal police officers ended his trip early at Munich Airport.

In September 2018, the wanted man and an accomplice tried to get a businessman in Erding for 25,000 euros with a money exchange trick. The scam was blown, the victim smelled the roast and called the local police. The Bavarian gendarmes, on the other hand, arrested the two criminals on the scene and reported them for attempted particularly serious cases of theft.

After a short stay in police custody, the now 41-year-old apparently disappeared without taking his responsibility to court. So in February of the following year the Erding district court issued a penalty order against the African for a fine of 8,000 euros or, alternatively, a 200-day prison sentence. This decision became legally binding at the end of April this year, whereupon the public prosecutor's office in Landshut used an arrest warrant to search for the person in hiding across Germany.

This search came to an end yesterday. Federal police at Munich Airport fished the wanted man out of the stream of passengers in the evening shortly before his flight to Barcelona and arrested him. After the arrested person could not raise the requested amount and a phone call with his girlfriend did not lead to the hoped-for success, the Cameroonian had to spend a night with the federal police due to the late hour before the officers him this morning for a 200-day stay in brought the Munich correctional facility.
