The General Company for Electricity Transmission in the regions of northern Iraq announced today that the “Kirkuk / Baiji” lines were subjected to a new attack, which caused the fall of 7 electric power transmission towers in Kirkuk Governorate.
A statement by the company, reported by Alsumaria News, said that the Kirkuk-Baiji conveyor line was subjected to sabotage by detonating explosive devices, which caused the fall of 7 towers, damage and wires cut, and the line was out of service.
Last night, the Iraqi forces thwarted an attempt to detonate one of the electric power transmission towers by the terrorist organization "ISIS" in the district of Tuz Khurmatu in Salah al-Din governorate in the center of the country, while the northern electric power transmission system in the governorates of Nineveh, Kirkuk and Salah al-Din was exposed during the past week to the bombing of 20 towers, which led As a result of the suspension of several lines and the weakness of the supply and stability of electric power in the northern region.
