Zornedings mayor wanted to express his gratitude to six student teams who had previously presented their future concepts for the house of associations in a special meeting of the local council.

In 2020, Jutta Sirotek (CSU) came up with the idea of ​​involving students from the Technical University of Munich as ideas for the overdue renovation work on the listed building.

They had spent three and a half months on their project work. The individual presentations in the well-attended primary school gymnasium each lasted a good ten minutes: New building materials, new buildings in the vicinity, but above all the revitalization of the former town center around the former school building were the focus of all. The soon-to-be architecture graduates had come up with a cafe on Grandauer Strasse, less through traffic for vehicles, a quiet zone for yoga, boules or chess and a fountain. In the theory presented by means of models, many new ideas were involved that locals would not initially have on the screen, said Mayr in his laudatory speech. And he promised all six project groups, which received ample applause from the council members who later voted,that they would be compensated for their work by the community.

That means: Not only the first three get a bonus ... Anna-Maria Brendel, who was most likely to convince the voters with her draft that very late in the evening, finally stood on the podium at the top. The community gave 1,000 euros as a prize for this. The second and third place winners could look forward to 500 and 250 euros respectively. In addition, the impressed mayor showed his appreciation for the commitment shown by granting all six project groups 1,000 euros each. Everything is still possible for implementation, time is not too short, even in view of the corona-damaged community coffers. However, in the future, not only will the model of the winning student be considered at and around the house of the clubs, but the highlights of the other competitors will also play a role.And the Zornedinger can look forward to a new, old town center. osw
