Six police officers will be punished with disciplinary measures for their conduct during the assault on the Capitol on January 6, according to an investigation by the United States Capitol Police that did not conclude any criminal conduct, authorities said Saturday.
The agency reviewed 38 cases, in which the United States Attorney's Office had no longer found evidence of crimes committed by officers that day, Capitol Police said in a statement.

In 20 of the 38, no violations were found and they were acquitted, and in some cases investigators were unable to identify the officers at the center of the complaints, according to the department.
In six cases, disciplinary measures were recommended, among other things for improper conduct, non-compliance with directives, inappropriate comments and improper dissemination of information, according to the Capitol Police.

The cases stem in part from complaints from people who were on Capitol Hill on January 6.
The results will be delivered to the United States Department of Justice.
The agency has come under pressure from all sides of the political spectrum following an attempt by supporters of former President Donald Trump to halt the Electoral College vote count.
