Investigators have released this Wednesday an image that represents what the girl Dulce María Alavez would look like, who disappeared two years ago in a park in Bridgeton, New Jersey, while she was out for a walk with her family.
The girl was last seen
on September 16, 2019,
at a Bridgeton City Park playground in a rural area in the south of the state.
At the time, the Hispanic girl was 5 years old.
The image simulates what the little girl would look like today, who would have turned
7
in April.
"
We remain hopeful that Dulce is alive
(as we have no proof of her death)," Cumberland prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said in a statement.

The image was produced by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in conjunction with the team investigating the disappearance, consisting of the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, the New Jersey Police, the FBI and Immigration Services.
The mother, Noema Alavez Pérez, took the girl to the park on September 16, along with her 3-year-old brother and other children.
He let her go to the playground with her brother but then, 10 minutes later, according to her account,
she found her son crying with no trace of Dulce
.
At first, it was indicated that she had been kidnapped by a thin man, probably Hispanic, from a red truck, but later the Prosecutor's Office indicated that there were no clear suspects.

Dulce's case had national repercussions, in a search that transcended the state.
In Ohio, letters with suspected clues were found and even psychics tried to locate her.
After the disappearance, a video had also been recovered from a security camera that showed her and her brother at a service station, just 20 minutes before disappearing.
Dulce's family also shared home pictures and videos to help recognize her.
"I pray to God that she is and that she is well and that he is taking care of her wherever she is," said the mother, in an interview with Noticias Telemundo, a year after her disappearance.
Search tasks were also not suspended during the pandemic, when many offices were nearly paralyzed.
The crime was possibly random, according to Daniel Garrabant, an FBI agent leading the investigation.
The prosecutor in the case assures that she has received thousands of leads.
However, there is no information yet on his whereabouts.
The case will remain open until Dulce is found and those responsible are located
, the prosecutor said Wednesday.
